Homeless Heart

They were
Sitting on the
Curb of the
Sidewalk
She was staring
At the pavement
“I wish I had
a room of my
own”
He stood and
Walked toward
The abandoned
Brick building
Taking cans of
Spray paint out
Of his oversized
Coat pockets
He painted a
Room with
Furniture
When he finished
He looked at her
And grinned
Slowly she smiled
I watched as they
Walked down the
Street arm in arm
And heard them laugh
As they turned the corner
The sunset was unusually
Rosy that evening
